Use of YouTube and Google User Data

When you enable YouTube streaming functionality within the OpenMeeting Platform, we use Google APIs to facilitate live video broadcasting to YouTube. This section describes how we access, use, store, and disclose Google user data in connection with this functionality.

What We Access

If you connect a Google or YouTube account to the Platform, we may access limited Google account and YouTube information necessary to:

  • Authenticate and authorize your connection.
  • Create, configure, manage, start, and stop YouTube live broadcasts on your behalf.
  • Access information necessary to display your YouTube channel, broadcast, or stream status within the Platform.
  • Perform other actions that you authorize through the YouTube streaming functionality.

Our access is limited to the permissions you grant through Google’s authorization process.

How We Use Google User Data

We use Google user data only as necessary to provide, maintain, secure, and support the YouTube streaming functionality you authorize. This may include:

  • Creating, starting, managing, and stopping YouTube livestreams associated with your meetings.
  • Setting video titles, descriptions, scheduling information, or other broadcast metadata using meeting information you provide.
  • Displaying stream status, links, or embedded video through the Platform or a public meeting portal when that functionality is enabled.
  • Maintaining and troubleshooting your authorized connection to YouTube.

We do not use Google user data for advertising purposes or to develop advertising profiles.

How We Store Google User Data

  • We do not receive or store your Google account password.
  • Authentication or authorization tokens that must be retained to maintain your authorized connection may be stored using appropriate security safeguards, including encryption where applicable.
  • We retain only the Google user data reasonably necessary to provide the authorized functionality, comply with legal obligations, protect the security and integrity of our systems, or resolve technical issues.
  • Access to stored Google user data is limited to authorized personnel and systems with a legitimate need for access.

Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell Google user data.

We may disclose Google user data only as reasonably necessary:

  • To service providers that assist us in operating or securing the Platform and that are subject to appropriate confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
  • To comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
  • To protect the security, integrity, rights, or safety of OMT, the Platform, our customers, users, or others.
  • As otherwise permitted or required by applicable Google API policies and your authorization.

Google API Services User Data Policy

Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will comply with the applicable Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

We do not use Google user data for purposes that are unrelated to the functionality you authorize.

Human access to Google user data is limited to circumstances where access is necessary to:

  • Provide or improve a user-requested feature or service and the user has provided appropriate consent.
  • Investigate and resolve security, abuse, fraud, or technical issues.
  • Comply with applicable law.
  • Perform internal operations where such access is permitted under applicable Google API policies.

Disconnecting Your Google or YouTube Account

You may revoke the Platform’s access to your Google or YouTube account through your Google account permissions or by using any available disconnection functionality within the Platform.

Revoking authorization may prevent YouTube streaming features from functioning until you reconnect and authorize the applicable permissions.

Updates

We may update this section as necessary to reflect changes to the Platform, our use of Google APIs, or applicable Google requirements. The revision date at the top of this Privacy Policy applies to this section as well.
