Robertson County Commission Recognized for Their Excellence in Local Government Meetings

In 2021, Robertson County proved their commitment to running great local government meetings. In turn, they’ve earned the first annual OpenMeeting Board Award.

We created this award to recognize excellence in local government meetings by both individuals and whole boards for their commitment to going above and beyond while running their meetings.

“On behalf of Robertson County, we are honored to be chosen for this award. The past couple of years have been trying in the aspect of county meetings. We had to get creative with conducting meetings for everyone involved. OpenMeeting made it simple to conduct orderly meetings with numerous attendees. It is a smooth process from beginning to end. We try to have efficient and timely meetings, and with OpenMeeting, that is accomplished every time.” said Angie H. Groves, County Clerk in Robertson County.

There are many wonderful legislative leaders running great meetings with OpenMeeting, but after careful consideration, Robertson County’s hard work and commitment to running better meetings stood out.

When attending the County Officials Association of Tennessee (COAT) annual conference, Groves spoke with members of the OpenMeeting team. They shared with her how well Robertson County is using the software in their meetings. OpenMeeting is using Robertson County meetings as examples in their demos and training sessions.

“Robertson County’s commitment to running excellent commission meetings serves as a model for local legislative leaders. The result is greater transparency and citizen engagement while delivering a better commissioner and public experience,” said Mark Netsch, Director at OpenMeeting Technologies.
